Josh is the Chief Technology Officer of RENDER|ai, responsible for all system architecture and core technology development.
Josh began overseeing large-scale media software engineering as a founder of the award-winning software company, OSC. OSC created the first multi-stream media playback engine, which formed the basis of the technology that drove Digidesign/Avid’s Grammy-winning Pro Tools system and the populist audio/video software DECK. OSC was acquired by Macromedia, where Josh took over as an Engineering Director, focusing on web media playback and media streaming technology (including foundational technologies for Final Cut Pro and GarageBand). He holds multiple patents for media technology and UI/UX design.
Josh is also an Emmy-winning film and television writer/director who has specialized in blue-chip non-fiction films, including the well-known “Fabric of the Cosmos” for PBS NOVA and “Otter 501” for PBS Nature. His films continue to air on The Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel, The Learning Channel, The Science Channel, The History Channel and PBS.
RENDER|ai represents the ultimate synthesis of Josh’s areas of expertise, where streaming visual storytelling meets next-generation automated story shaping. He lives in Oakland, California.
